If you want to experience dining with Balinese noble people and king, you can fulfill your wish at Puri Anyar Krambitan in Tabanan Regency. In Puri Anyar Kerambitan, which is also the residence of king of Tabanan and his extended family, you will have an amazing dining because the reception, the dining, the d écor, the entertainment are set as in the Royal time.
The Puri, which literally means the residence for noble people and king, still keeps heritages of the ancestors in terms of furniture, photographs, statues and antiques from the 17th century.
The dinner takes place in an open area of the puri at 7 pm the dining set is traditional and the menu includes traditional Balinese food.
The guests that arrive at Puri Anyar Kerambitan are welcomed with ceremonies. They are first greeted by a group of people that handle torches in their hands. The torches are meant to show the guests the way to enter to the Puri. It is an old Balinese tradition.
A group of peoplewith okokan (big wooden cow bells) that hang around their necks dance in front of the arriving guests. The dance is a symbol to show that Kerambitan is a famous rice producer in Bali.

In an open garden dining area, the dining table and chairs are set for the guests. After a short speech by the host, the guests are served with Balinese rice wine and crackers.
The appetizer is traditional chicken with vegetable soup. The menus in buffet dinner include traditional Balinese food bearing international taste. The bamboo orchestra of Baleganjur goes along with dinner procession.
After dinner, Joged Bumbung by girl dancers is performed and the guests are invited to join in. Before seeing the last performance in the puri, the guests are invited to see the pavilions in puri and selections of photos of celebrities that visited have the compound.
Close to 10pm, Tektekan, a traditional performance is performed where you can see barong and trance dance is performed. |
